Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Life Coaching?
If you have challenges, goals, ambitions or aims in your life which will bring you happiness and you can confidently achieve these goals in an effective way and time, then no, you do not need to use a Life Coach. If however, you find achieving some life goals difficult, or would like the help and support of a professional coach then you should consider using the services of INSPiRE Coaching. We have helped many people with in the areas of personal growth and development.

Does Life Coaching provide psychological or health counseling?
Coaching is not therapy. Coaches don't focus as much on past issues. Coaches are not psychologists or psychotherapists. Coaches focus on the present and the client’s goals for the future. We help people move forward and set personal and professional goals that will give them the life they really want. Most coaching clients are healthy, successful people who might be a bit stuck or simply want to make a big change in their lives and want the support of a coach to do so.

What can coaching do for me?

If you're motivated to make meaningful changes, coaching can help you overcome challenges in any area of your life. The best way to determine specifically what coaching can do for you is to request a no-strings attached, free sample session.

Why use INSPiRE Coaching instead of another coach?

(If I can get these 2 organizations seal on my site somewhere, that would be great)

Do coaches work on personal goals or business/professional goals?
Usually both. The coach is the only professional trained to work with all aspects of your life. This is useful because often, if something is bothering you at work; it is affecting your personal life, as well, and vice versa. Some clients prefer to spend more time focusing on their business goals, while others may want to focus on personal goals. How you use your coaching sessions is up to you!

Why is coaching becoming so popular?

People are tired of doing what they should do and are ready to do something special and meaningful for the rest of their lives. The problem is, many can't see it, or if they can, they can't see a way to reorient their life around it. A coach can help them do both. People also are realizing how simple it can be to accomplish something that several years ago might have felt out of reach. This why life coaches are becoming in such high demand.

Why would people who are already successful hire a coach?
Nobody really needs a coach, but many people want one! Are you doing what you most enjoy? Are you tolerating or putting up with anything? Is life easy or are you struggling? Are you on the path to financial independence? Do you have what you really want? Most people can expect a lot more out of their lives.

Can a dependency be created between coach and client?
No. The client may need the coach in order to maximize an opportunity or accelerate their personal growth, yet not be dependent on the coach. Anyone who has big goals can benefit from the structure, advice, and support of a coach, so in that sense, a coach is needed. As far as creating an emotional or psychological dependency, there’s no need to worry. Coaches work with people who are healthy and successful on their own. A good coach will lead his/her clients on a journey where he/she will discover and begin to tap into their own full potential. The coach-client relationship is all about the client, not the coach.

Can I hire a coach for a short-term, special project?
Yes. Some clients hire a coach to help them achieve a specific objective or project. Many clients choose to continue working with their coach after their initial goals are accomplished because there are even more interesting things to do!

How long must I commit to working with a coach?
At least one month. Although on average, most people find coaching more beneficial than they realized, and stay on longer than they initially anticipated. Many coaches ask for a three to six month commitment, but usually let you stop immediately if coaching is not working for you right now. Some coaches might ask you to sign a contract or an agreement. At INSPiRE, our programs are all at least one month long. We encourage our clients to commit for 3 months, but this is totally up to the client. Many of our clients commit for 6 months, some for a year, and even some who work with us beyond a year.

How much does coaching usually cost?
Prices vary on the package you are signing up for. Please go to our programs page for more information on various programs and pricing.

How does life coaching work?

Usually individual coaching is done over the phone. This seems to work really well for several reasons: The geographical location of the client and the coach doesn't matter...allowing the most beneficial match possible to be the top consideration; people tend to be a more honest and open with the sense of anonymity on the phone; no special trips are needed out of the house; it saves time, and money.

Between calls, you will have steps to take in your own life, and/or exercises to complete that help you learn more about yourself. You can also usually talk to your coach via email as much as you want to in order to make sure you are staying on target. Coaching is sort of like a partnership, where you work together to sharpen all areas your life.

What is appropriate to talk about in coaching?

Some people will want to focus just on the issue at hand, for example, finding a career, improving a relationship, etc. However, coaching recognizes that you are a whole person! Your whole life is a system, in which each aspect affects every other. How are you going to make a good decision about your career future if you hate your home environment? How are you going to improve your relationship if you are completely stressed out about money? So, as much as you are comfortable, your coach will encourage you to consider your whole life: Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, health, relationships, work/career, finances, etc. Of course, if anything is off limits, just let your coach know! Usually you will set the ground rules early in your sessions.

What are some examples of things you've worked on with clients?

Coaching is tailored and adapted to the individual, so the topics it can address are as varied as the people who pursue it. We have helped a lot of people in their quest for personal growth and development. This has included everything from time management coaching to goal setting to helping people deal with low self-esteem and insecurity. We have coached leaders to be more influential, and have helped organizations train workers how to better get along with one another. We have led people in financial coaching, divorce recovery, conflict management and more. We also train speakers (or those who want to or have to give speeches). We will also soon begin providing personal fitness trainers in Tulsa, Denver and Colorado Springs.

What happens in a free session?

The purpose of a free or sample session is to give you firsthand experience of coaching and help you determine if it makes sense for you. A sample session takes about 30 minutes, and is simply an opportunity for you to ask questions about the process and see how it works. There is no selling or pressure of any kind. If after the session you decide to pursue coaching further, great; if not, that's okay, too. But here’s the great thing about the sample session: you will walk away from it with at least one action step to take in order to reach your goal…at no cost to you!

Do you provide group coaching sessions?

Yes, in addition to individual coaching sessions, we also provide coach sessions. If you are in the Tulsa, Denver or Colorado Springs areas, we provide in-person group sessions. If you are not in these areas, never fear…you can still be a part of a group session. We also provide group sessions via teleconference (over the phone), so no matter where you live, you can find a group session that is right for you. To find the right program for you, take a look at our available programs.

We also hope to be adding life coaches who can work with people on personal growth and personal development in person, in the following cities:
